Objective
Students will
 - Understand the fundamental role that the population’s health and well-being and the underlying factors play in health promotion
 - Become familiar with regional, national and international research and development programmes for health promotion and the regulations governing them
 - Master the concepts, knowledge and fundamental values required for health promotion expertise
 - Become familiar with the ethical foundation and fundamental values of health promotion
 - Learn to apply basic health promotion knowledge in their activities
 - Understand the structures and development challenges of health promotion in the context of modern social development
 - Analyse and appraise studies describing the population’s health and well-being, as well as other current information in the context of health promotion development

- Fundamental values and knowledge of health promotion
 - Salutogenesis, health literacy and its support, self-care
 - International and national programmes and strategies
 - Life-cycle approach, environmental health, cultural well-being, literacy of population
 - Assessment of the population’s health and well-being
 - Structures of health promotion (changing operating environments and regulations, social welfare and health care reform)
 - The future of health promotion and related development challenges
