Tavoite
Koulutuksen tavoitteena on valmistaa aloite- ja yhteistyökykyisiä, laaja-alaisesti taiteita arvostavia ja persoonallisia pedagogeja ja taiteilijoita. Valmistuneilla on monipuoliset oman taiteenalansa tiedot ja taidot sekä kyky soveltaa osaamistaan ja toimia oman alansa edistäjinä ja kehittäjinä.

Opinnoissa kootaan yhteen opiskelijan aiemmin hankkima osaaminen ja koulutuksessa tarjottavat opinnot teatteri-ilmaisunohjaaja (AMK) –tutkinnon osaamistavoitteet sisältäväksi kokonaisuudeksi. Keskeisenä tavoitteena on aiemman osaamisen ja koulutuksen täydentäminen opettajan yleisen pedagogisen pätevyyden antavilla 60 op:n pedagogisilla opinnoilla.

Valmistuneilla on monipuoliset alansa tiedot ja taidot, taiteellispedagoginen näkemys sekä kyky soveltaa osaamistaan esittävän taiteen alalla ja taidekasvatuksessa. Lisäksi hänellä on kyvyt toimia erilaisissa opetusalan tehtävissä, hankkeissa ja projekteissa, esitystoiminnassa sekä ohjelmantuotantotehtävissä. Valmistuneella on myös valmiudet oman yrityksen perustamiseen ja soveltavan taiteen menetelmien käyttämiseen

Koulutuksen sisältö
Osaamisen saavuttamiseksi opiskelijan kanssa laaditaan opintojen alussa henkilökohtainen opiskelusuunnitelma, jossa otetaan huomioon aiemmin hankittu osaaminen ja sen laajentaminen ja kehittäminen. Aiemmasta työkokemuksesta ja koulutuksesta hyväksi luetaan vähintään 120 opintopistettä. Henkilökohtaiseen opetussuunnitelmaan (HOPS) sisällytetään opintoja Taideakatemian ja/tai AMK:n muusta tarjonnasta.

Henkilökohtaiset opiskelusuunnitelmat painottuvat opiskelijan aiemman osaamisen perusteella joko sirkuksen tai teatteri-ilmaisunohjaajan erikoistumisaloihin. Kummassakin tapauksessa painopiste on pedagogisissa opinnoissa. Opiskelun aikana osallistutaan työelämälähtöisiin projekteihin, joissa opitaan taiteellisen ja pedagogisen sisällön tuottamista eri kohderyhmille.

Pääaineen tai erikoistumisalan valinta
Opintoihin voi hakeutua joko teatteri- tai sirkusalan koulutuksella ja työelämätaustalla. Opintojen aluksi tehtävässä henkilökohtaisessa opiskelusuunnitelmassa opinnot räätälöidään opetustarjonnan ja opiskelijan erikoistumisalan mukaisesti

Opintojen rakenne
Opinnot jakautuvat ydinosaamiseen ja laajentavaan osaamiseen. Osaamistavoitteiltaan toisiinsa liittyvät opintojaksot muodostavat laajempia opintomoduleita. Opintoihin sisältyy 60 op laajuiset opettajan pedagogiset opinnot ja opinnäytetyö.

Opiskelija laajentaa ja syventää osaamistaan teatteri- tai sirkusalalla koulutuksen aikana. Koulutus rakentuu henkilökohtaisen opiskelusuunnitelman ja kehittämistyön ympärille. Opinnot koostuvat oman HOPS:n mukaisista opintojaksoista, yleispedagogisten opintojen yhteisistä kontaktipäivistä (n. 1 pv/kk), oppimistehtävistä sekä opinnäytetyöstä.

Opinnäytetyö
Opinnäytetyö on kehittämistehtävä, jossa opiskelija syventää, harjoittaa ja täydentää ammatillista osaamistaan. Se voi olla esimerkiksi itsenäisesti suunniteltu taiteellinen ja pedagoginen projekti. Opinnäytetyö sisältää käytännön osion ja kirjallisen tutkielman. Kirjallisessa tutkielmassa opiskelija tarkastelee alaansa pedagogisesta näkökulmasta. Kehittämistehtävän on tarkoitus toteutua työelämäyhteydessä. Se voi olla oman työnantajan kanssa neuvoteltu tilaus- tai tutkimustyö tai liittyä meneillään olevan työtehtävän kehittämiseen.

Uramahdollisuudet
Valmistuneet toimivat asiantuntijatehtävissä pedagogeina ja taiteilijoina.
Teatteri-ilmaisun ohjaaja työskentelee esimerkiksi teatteriryhmien ja harrastajateattereiden ohjaajana ja opettajana. Teatteri-ilmaisun ohjaaja voi toimia paitsi ohjaajana, myös esiintyjänä, tuottajana, tapahtumien järjestäjänä ja teatterilähtöisen sisällön tuottajana. Opetustyö on yleensä teatteritaiteen perusopetusta tai draama-, teatteri- ja ilmaisukasvatusta oppilaitoksissa tai harrastajakentällä. Lisäksi teatteri-ilmaisun ohjaaja voi työskennellä sosiaali- ja terveysalan hankkeissa tai soveltaa teatterilähtöisiä työmenetelmiä yhteisöjen kehittämiseen. Teatteri-ilmaisun ohjaaja toimii usein freelancerina tai yrittäjänä.
Koulutus valmistaa monipuoliseksi sirkustaiteilijaksi ja -pedagogiksi, jolla on taidot ja tiedot toimia esittävän taiteen alan erilaisissa ohjaus- ja opetustehtävissä, esitystoiminnassa, erilaisissa hankkeissa ja projekteissa, ohjelmantuotantotehtävissä, omassa yritystoiminnassa ja soveltavan esittävän taiteen parissa

Pätevyys
Tutkintoon sisältyvät 60 opintopisteen laajuiset pedagogiset opinnot antavat yleisen opettajan kelpoisuuden.

Kansainvälistyminen
Opiskelujen aikana voi hakeutua kansainväliseen vaihtoon. Harjoittelun ja opinnäytetyön voi tehdä ulkomailla.
