Objective

An effective knowledge management in virtual team involves sharing and creating information. The course addresses methods to overcome the challenges of leading a virtual team with members in various geographical locations.
-The students will be able to apply effective communication and use appropriate communication technologies for communication processes.
- The students will also understand how human coordination, trust, languages and cultures affect knowledge management in virtual teams. They are able to apply group dynamics and social processes in virtual teams
- The students will understand the fundamental concepts in the study of knowledge and its creation, acquisition, transfer, use, and management in virtual teams.

Teaching methods

The course is ONLY for master´s students.
Course language is English (final output can be delivered also in Finnish)
This is an 100% online course and the course is planned to support both individual and collaborative learning and knowledge sharing and creation.
Individual learning will be reflected in private diaries. Collaborative learning will be realised through active dialogue within the study group in Optima.
In course design we have simulated a multicultural virtual environment where experts are sharing and creating new knowledge and competences (SECI-model).

This course is realized totally online and learning is self-directed (no synchronous lectures or teaching). This means that your motivation and ability to take responsibility of your own learning is extremely important to be able to learn during these courses.

There is not any specific meetings/times when you have to be synchronous online.
The course content will be accessible for you 10th FEB in Optima and you will find all the support for the course there.
