Objective

The student knows the most common machine elements and are able to calculate them using the standards and calculation instructions.The course reviews fundamentals about designing and selecting machine elements especially under fatigue load.

Content

It covers different ways of material joining including welding, screwing and riveting; priciples of designing axles and bearings. Emphasis is put on understaning whole machines consisting of different machine elements
