Objective

Intensive Care Nursing 5 cr TEHOStudents will be aware of the safety risks in intensive care wards and know how to ensure safe operations.Students will become familiar with the principles of documentation and reporting.Students will develop and deepen their ability to administer pharmacotherapy to patients (medication passport.)Students will know how to use patient examination, monitoring and care instruments safely for the purpose of intensive care, as well as to interpret the resulting information and act accordingly.Students will understand the principles of examining and treating intensive care patients.Students will be able to detect problems in the nursing of patients, as well as to address the problems and needs of family members comprehensively using methods from intensive care and medicine.Students will know the special fields and features of intensive care and the treatment methods used.Students will understand the special features of medication and fluid therapy for intensive care patients.
