- deflection curve formula

- torsion shaft design

- buckling

- fatique

Materials

Whole course material is available in Optima portal.

Teaching methods

The course is implemented via Flipped Learning method. All the lectures are available via links in optima Lujuusopin perusteet workspace. It is students duty to get to know the material beforehand.

International connections

Flipped learning

Completion alternatives

solving exercises independently remotely and return them admitted before the deadline.

Student workload

During the course about 15 strength of materials and 25 dynamics exercises is solved in contact hours.

Content scheduling

-Basic of kinematics and kinetics
-In this second course related to strength of materials, the student concentrates on methods to evaluate the deflections in bended beam structures. Furthermore, the shearing stresses and angular deformations and shafts under torsion are considered. Also, principles of buckling and fatigue analysis will be discussed.
