Objective
After completing the course the student:
- understands different ways of transferring signals in wireless communication systems
- understands the nature of radio waves and their propagation principles
- understands the problems concerning wireless transmission
- understands noise behaviour and its influence
- can estimate link budgets
- is familiar with measurement equipment and antennas

- frequency allocations,
- use of radio spectrum,
- radio waves, propagation and attenuation,
- link budget, noise, antennas,
- different wireless systems (f.ex. WLAN, TV, Mobile, IoT), newest technologies (5G, nb-IoT etc.)
- Laboratory exercises (antennas, connection to systems in use, f.ex. LoRaWAN, BT, BLE or WLAN etc.)

Understands well the physical properties of wireless technologies and is able to analyze how they are related to the wireless system performance.
