Objective

After the course the student
- understands the causes and risks of urban flooding
- can see the links between stormwater management solutions, ecosystem services and urban planning
- knows what kind of technical solutions are used in integrated stormwater management and understands how they work
- can evaluate the suitability of different stormwater management options in different basic situations and knows the basics of technical planning

Content

Introduction to sustainable urban stormwater management concepts and it’s applicability in the Baltic Sea region
- Different technologies and methods, basics of dimensioning and planning)
- Stormwater planning in a city, forming functional entities

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Basic level of knowledge on stormwater management concepts, methods and planning. 50-69% of total points acquired from assignments and tests.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

Student has shown good level of knowledge on stormwater management concepts, methods and planning. 70-89% of total points acquired from assignments and tests.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Student has shown excellent level of knowledge on stormwater management concepts, methods and planning and capability to develop and reflect stormwater management topics. At least 90% of total points acquired from assignments and tests.
