Objective

BACHELOR’S THESIS 15 CR

- Students will
- Learn to identify the key development needs in their professional duties and solutions to them
- Learn to work independently and (critically) assess and use research information in their field
- Learn to adhere to the principles of research ethics
- Learn to handle cooperation partnerships responsibly
- Develop and demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge and competence in practical expert assignments related to their professional studies
- Learn to use supervision to advance their Bachelor’s thesis
- Learn to present their progress as well as to give and receive feedback
- Demonstrate their familiarity with the field of their thesis as well as their language skills
- Learn to perform and document their work and to communicate the results

Bachelor’s Thesis Plan 7 cr
- Getting acquainted with the thesis process
- Selecting and defining the topic
- Creating a theoretical basis
- Choosing a method of implementation
- Presenting a written plan and serving as an opponent to another student’s work as agreed

Research methodology literature and articles
Research articles of the target substance

Teaching methods

Information lecture, independent and groupwork, seminar, presentation, working as an opponent.
Presence in the seminars necessary.

Exam schedules

No exams.

Process writing, independent and groupwork, independent literature searches, dialectical supervising discussions on the topic and methodological aspects, peer feedback

Written assignment: Bachelor’s thesis proposal
Process assignment: The process of proposal writing, performance as presenter of the proposal and as the opponent, participation in the discussions

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Accepted proposal, presentation, opponing and participation to the discussions.

Timing: 11.1. – 12.2.2021
week 2 2 hours theory classroom for 25 students and 4 hours for supervisory discussions (no need for classroom)
weeks 3, 4, 5 4 h supervision in one day every week
week 6 thesis proposal seminar 8h x2 (on different days) theory classroom for 25 students
