Objective

Postpartum Midwifery and Nursing of Newborns 5 cr
Objectives
- Students will learn to independently provide care for women and families after childbirth.
- Students will learn to anticipate and identify changes in the health of the woman, the newborn baby and the family after childbirth.
- Students will know how to guide mothers and families in a family-oriented way that promotes their health.
- Students will master the newborn treatment process.
- Students will know how to prevent, identify and react in time to changes in the newborn’s health.
- Students will understand the importance of early interaction and support for it during the postpartum period.
- Students will learn to support parenthood and early interaction.
- Students will know how to detect problems in early interaction.
- Students will learn to perform a regular postpartum examination.
- Students will become familiar with the most common perinatal and neonatal disorders and problems.
- Students will know how to observe and care for a newborn as a multiprofessional team member in situations that threaten the health and life of the newborn.
