Objective

The student can
- recognise the scientific basis of oral health care
- describe the role of a dental hygienist in oral health care and its operating environments
- describe occupational health and safety and environmental health in oral health care
- maintain the operational readiness of a dental clinic
- describe the document policies in oral health care and present how customer data is entered
- explain the basics of nutrients, the relationships between nutrition and health and factors affecting food choices
