Objective

Clinical hematology II (3,0 op): Students know the tasks and production phases of the blood cells and know the regulation of blood cell production.Students know the principles of the analysis methods in the haematology laboratory. Students know the most common blood diseases and know how they affect haematopoiesis and the amount and morphology of blood cells.
Immunohematologia (2,0 op): Students know the tasks and production phases of the blood cells and know the regulation of blood cell production. Students know the phases of haemostasis and know the methods for examining the function of haemostasis. Students know the morphology of healthy, mature blood cells. Students know the methods for finding out about the production of blood cells. Students know the principles of the analysis methods in the haematology laboratory. Students know the most common blood diseases and know how they affect haematopoiesis and the amount and morphology of blood cells.

Kliininen hematologia II:
Immunohematologia: ABO-, Rh- ja muut veriryhmät. Kliinisesti merkitykselliset veriryhmävasta-aineet. Veriryhmä- ja punasoluvasta-ainemääritykset. Sopivuuskoe. Verensiirtotoimintaa ohjaavat säädökset. Verenluovutus ja verenluovutuksen edellytykset. Verituotteet. Verensiirtoreaktiot.

Content scheduling

Clinical Hematology: The student knows the most common blood diseases and knows the effect of blood diseases on bone marrow function and blood cell production, number and morphology. The student is able to identify changes in cell morphology related to blood diseases.

Immunohematology: The student is familiar with the clinically most important blood groups and knows the principles of laboratory tests to ensure safe blood transfusion. The student knows the conditions for safe blood donation. The student is familiar with the blood products used in blood transfusions.
