Objective
The student shall be able to- shall be able to support the functional capacity, well-being and quality of life of a cancer patient and elderly person, and work in multiprofessional co-operation with the client and his or her family members- shall be able to know the planning, implementation, recording and evaluation of the health and health changes of a person in home care and his or her family members- decision-making and multidisciplinary co-operation in curative and palliative care- shall be able to guide and support elderly patients and their family members in nursing requiring geriatric care- shall be able to know the primary treatment methods in the nursing of cancer and elderly patients and those requiring palliative care as well as the treatment-related technology and creating a safe treatment environment- shall be able to improve his or her competences in the medicinal treatment of cancer and elderly patients and those requiring palliative care

Cancer and Elderly Patients Nursing CENU - ageing as a phase of life, changes due to ageing- ageing, health and functional capacity- diseases related to ageing and changes in functional capacity- preventative home visits for the elderly- supporting the health of and services to cancer patients and patients in palliativecare-treatment and service plan of cancer and elderly patients and those requiring palliative care- cancer and types of treatment- Nursing of patients with cancer: stem cell transplants, cytostatic therapies, evaluation of the effectiveness of cancer treatments and changes required in treatment- Supporting a dying patient and his or her family members in physical, mental, social and spiritual issues- ethical challenges in the treatment of cancer and elderly patients and those requiring palliative care
