Objective

After completing the course, the student is able to:
- work as an expert of health promotion in national and international contexts
- work in multicultural and -disciplinary contexts
- recognize the current and future development scenarios in the operating environment of health promotion
- understand the need for preparedness and continuous development
- evaluate and educate oneself on a continuous manner

Teaching methods

Individual tasks incorporating pre course task activity

Please submit your 500 word pre-course task  by 24th of March.
Specifically you will write a descriptive synopsis 500 words (summary) on your recent health promotion  activities  using reflective cycle by Gibbs, Moon, Schön, Kolb or any other.

Health promotion activities range from preventing illnesses and accidents to  a wide range  of capacity building or healthy lifestyles. It also can be short review on opportunities within your HPM target group. You submit the pre-task activity on ITS learning environment.

Various aspects of Health Promotion Management course detailed content for each teaching session as scheduled below will be available on the ITS learning platform closer to the time.
The pre task will be published in advance of the course start on the 1st of March 2022 prior the course start.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course progresses through a variety of tasks and activities based on both theoretical frameworks as well as knowledge sharing.
To complete the course you need to complete all the activities and tasks successfully by due dates.
The course evaluation mark grid varies from 0 to 5 as based on the individual assignment.
Written work individual assignment will be evaluated with numbers 0-5 by using the following criteria:

1. Theoretical background and references
2. Structure, content and logic
3. Argumentation and ability for synthesis
4. Formal compliance with the instructions.

Other tasks of the course will be evaluated as pass/fail.

Assessment criteria, fail (0)

Fail: You have not submitted all the tasks and activities by due date and or you have not participated in the teaching sessions and/or the submitted tasks and activities are of poor quality. Plagiarism also leads to failing the course.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Pass/Fair (1): You have submitted all tasks and activities by due date and participated to the Zoom-meetings of the course. You demonstrate superficial learning and basic knowledge of the topics. The use of evidence-based litterature is minimal. There may be also some conceptual and content errors in the tasks and the layout of the tasks is unfinished

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

Good (3): You have submitted all the tasks and activities on time and participated in the course Zoom-meetings. Your tasks meet the objectives and contents of the course. You demonstrate skills to apply theory into practice. Your tasks follow the instructions and you have used evidence-based literature as your reference. The structure and layout of tasks is of good standard.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): You have submitted all tasks and activities on time and participated to the Zoom meetings of the course. You demonstrate extensive knowledge of the subject substance. You also demonstrate application of theory into practice. Your tasks follow the instructions and are of high standard using evidence based literature and up to date referencing. The standard of written work is impeccable. You present your work analytically and the reflection demonstrates synthesis.
