Objectives
Students will
• Be familiar with nutrients and understand the need and significance of nutrients
• Know how to assess the nutritional needs of people
• Students will know how to apply the Finnish nutrition recommendations in the prevention and treatment of national diseases

Contents
• Nutritional needs and the roles of nutrients in the human organism
• Assessment of the nutritional status of customers and the importance of the assessment
• The importance of diets that comply with the dietary guidelines in promoting health and preventing endemic diseases
