SPECIAL QUESTIONS IN MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHIATRIC NURSING 5 ECTS MIPSY
Objectives
Students will
• Deepen their competence in the treatment of mental health and substance abuse patients
• Enhance their expertise in demanding mental health and substance abuse work
• Master the main treatment methods and the creation of a safe care environment in mental health, substance abuse and crisis management work
• Learn to use career counselling as a method for professional growth and to support their competence in mental health and substance abuse nursing
• Be familiar with various national and international mental health promotion projects and strategies
• Know how to use health care technology in mental health and substance abuse nursing

• Significance of occupational well-being in supporting mental health
• Special issues in substance abuse work
• Minorities and particularly vulnerable groups of people
• Current international and national methods for promoting mental health
• Health care technology’s role in supporting the mental health of the population
