Objective

Objectives:
• Students will comprehend the importance of ethical perspectives, legislation and evidence-based knowledge in decision-making regarding pharmacotherapy
• Students will understand the role of occupational and patient safety in pharmacotherapy and know how to act in order to promote medication safety in different phases of pharmacotherapy according to the pharmacotherapy plan
• Students will know how to describe effective, safe, efficient, appropriate and economic pharmaceutical services and pharmacotherapy in the context of social welfare and health care
• Students will know the roles and responsibilities of different professional groups and medication users in the provision of pharmacotherapy
• Students will become familiar with the basics of pharmacology and pharmacy required in nursing
• Students will know the responsibilities and duties of nurses as medication administrators throughout the treatment process
• Students will know the reliable evidence-based sources of information in pharmacotherapy and how to apply them
• Students will know how to perform pharmacotherapy by using various routes of administration safely and applying the aseptic technique and how to use the required instruments correctly
• Students will know how to perform pharmacotherapy according to the physician’s instructions and have the mathematical skills and dosage calculation skills required in pharmacotherapy
• Students will understand the objectives of pharmacotherapy and the significance of personal guidance and commitment to pharmacotherapy in the patient’s overall treatment regimen
• Students will know how to assess their own pharmacotherapy skills with the medication passport
