Objective

Objectives
• Students will know the distinctive features of emergency and acute nursing and of the operational environment and
• Have command of the treatment process of acutely ill or injured patients of different ages in the most important patient groups
• Students will know how to assess customers’ needs for and urgency of treatment in acute care and reception work in different environments and will be able to make independent decisions, while identifying their limits and using consultation for support
• Students will learn to cooperate with customers and their social networks and other people involved
• Students will learn to provide customers with personalized guidance and support for self-care and health promotion
• Students will deepen their understanding of hospital operations complying with the principles of CRM
• Will know how to apply the principles of sustainable development in their tasks

• Determining the need for care and classifying the urgency of care
• Detailed assessment of the status of the patient and participating in diagnostics
• Decision-making and multiprofessional cooperation in acute nursing
• Customer-driven nursing practice and ethically special cases
• Providing support and guidance to patients and their family members
• Nursing of patients suffering from acute illnesses and different types of injuries
• Most commonly applied methods of examination and treatment
• Constant monitoring of patient and response to results
• Documentation and reporting and using VIRVE
• Utilization of care technology
• Most common pharmaceuticals used in the care of emergency patients
• Principles of casting and splinting
• Safety risks and safety of operations
• Taking advantage of checklists and protocols
