Advanced Strength of MaterialsLaajuus (3 cr)

Objective

After the course, the student has deeper knowledge to analyze the strength of certain relatively simple structures. The course is an advanced course to the previous Strength of Materials course.

Content

In this second course related to strength of materials, the student concentrates on methods to evaluate the deflections in bended beam structures. Furthermore, the shearing stresses and angular deformations and shafts under torsion are considered. Also, principles of buckling and fatigue analysis will be discussed.
