Graduates from the degree programme Business Logistics master the basics of business operations and the operative principles of the logistics process, and know how to apply their knowledge and skills in logistics and business in practice. The Bachelors of Business Administration graduated from the degree programme master the specific issues within the specialization of their choice (specializations modules)in a manner which makes them competent for work in the typical work tasks in their field, and gives them readiness to develop the professional practices in their field both as members of work communities and independently.
The Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Logistics gives a solid ground for developing your career. Also founding a business of your own can be a career path. A student who is interested in starting and developing their own business can specialize in entrepreneurship already during their studies.
STRUCTURE OF STUDIES AND STUDY CONTENTS
The extent of the degree programme in Business Logistics is 210 credits which equals to 3.5 years of full-time studies. One year of studies require approximately 1600 hours of student work.
The objective of the basic studies is to give students an extensive overall view of the role of business and business logistics connected with it in society, in working life and internationally, to familiarise the students with the general theoretical basis and the communication in the task area in question and to give students sufficient language skills.
BBAs from the degree programme in Business Logistics work in various expert and development tasks in different enterprises and organisations. These tasks presuppose wide-range knowledge of logistics and business life and an entrepreneurial attitude.Client orientation, innovation and co-operation skills are central features in the work of a Bachelor of Business Administration. In order to succeed in the expert and development tasks of various organisations a Bachelor of Business Administration must master the specific features of different fields from the point of view of client orientation, and cost-effective and socially responsible business operations.
Students select two specialization modules (each module 15 cr). Specialization modules are: Purchasing, Transportation, Warehousing, Supply Chain and Information Logistics. The students can also choose Internationalization module or R&D-module. Project studies can additionally be included in the optional studies by participation in Research & Development and service projects.

Objective
The Bachelors of Business Administration graduating from the degree programme in Business Logistics are experts in both logistics and business, whose professional titles are for instance buyer, transport planner, forwarding officer, storage manager, terminal manager, Supply Chain Manager, sales assistant in logistics services, import/export assistant, applications specialist, IT development manager
Development
The students learn to take responsibility for their studies and acquire new study skills. The studies include contact lessons and independent studies of business literature as well as assignments, practical training and team work. Cooperation with companies plays an essential role throughout the studies. Commissions from companies enhance learning and create contacts and networks for working life and innovation competences are trained by applying theory into practice.
Pedagogic solutions contribute to the students’ ability to work in changing conditions and their ability to adopt the concept of lifelong learning.

The evaluation grounds of each course unit have been described on a general level in the study guide and on a particular level in the implementation plan for each course unit.
The evaluation of a course unit can be based on many different things, for instance attendance, exams, series of assignments or completion of learning assignments, or various project outcomes and the presentation of them. The evaluation of course units is based on the knowledge of the student, and the growth of their competence. In some course units, a factor for the evaluation is how well the student adheres to the agreed timetable.
Mostly the evaluation of studies is based on the individual, but sometime the grades are based on the working of the group and its outcome. Usually the teacher carries out the evaluation, but at times also peer evaluation is used, i.e. student evaluate each other’s performance. The object of the evaluation can be apart from professional skills, also other skills needed in working life such as teamwork, communication, reception of feedback skills etc.
The grade for the course unit is given on the scale 0–5 or as verbal assessment pass/fail.
Turku University of Applied Sciences abides by a quality system in which feedback is collected on the studies, for instance during a feedback day. The degree programme manager analyses the feedback e.g. in discussion with other faculty and the feedback is used as a guideline in the development of instruction and education
