Objective

After completing the course, the student is able to

- identify the responsibilities of the cinematographer at different stages of production
- illustrates the importance of creative and production pre-production
- explains the importance of production hierarchy and communication
- divide the scene into artistic and production plans
- use different working methods to prepare the production
- work in a film crew and implement plans on set
- identify management methods that support the well-being of production members

Content

The course introduces students to filmmaking. The course focuses on the role of the cinematographer as an artistically and productively responsible person in the different stages of the production process. The photographer works in close collaboration with the director and the producer and leads his/her own team: camera assistant, lighting and grip. Dialogue with the set, props, costume and make-up departments is essential. The course will cover the above-mentioned job descriptions. The course will explore extended imagery, continuity, style, and the fundamentals of screenwriting. The course will practice the basics of studio work and introduce wireless systems. The course will include exercises in lighting and shooting a dialogue scene.
