After completing the course, the student will be able to
- recognise the potential of animation in screenwriting
- identify the basic features of drama
- write and read a script format
- explore their own artistic identity in relation to animation
- reflect on ways of developing their own writing style
- discuss scripts and give/receive feedback
Content
The Animation and Screenwriting course introduces the basics of screenwriting; character, plot, tension, world, theme, synopsis. Through exercises, the student will gain an understanding of storytelling and scriptwriting from an animation perspective. The course will focus on developing story lines and practicing short format through writing, drawing and discussion.
