The student
-understands international and national competence requirements of advanced clinical practice in palliative care and evaluates them critically in diverse environments.
-recognizes the strengths and development needs of his/her expertise and advanced clinical competencies in palliative care and, based on these, creates a personal development and learning plan.
-evaluates critically and based on evidence changes in palliative care and services and their significance for his/her own and his/her work community’s competencies and development.
-is committed to the continuous development of his/her own expertise, learning together and sharing expertise in multidisciplinary networks.
-understands the philosophical and ethical foundations of palliative care in clinical decision-making in palliative care and promotes their realization in practice.

-Roles of advanced nursing practice in health care, advanced nursing practice in palliative care, competence development and continuous learning
-Evaluation of expertise and competencies in palliative care – starting point and development objectives
-International and national guidelines and recommendations on palliative care and competencies in palliative care
-The philosophical and ethical foundations of palliative care in clinical decision-making in palliative care
-International and national trends and challenges in palliative care and their connections to the future competencies
