The student knows the plot area and the importance of the foundation drainage. The student identifies the base construction risks and the impact on the environment and knows the basics of quality control. The student knows broadly the capacity and deflection concepts and affecting factors . The student knows the importance of the support edges of the trenches and light digging. The student knows the standards, regulations and guidelines for foundation engineering, for example piling.
The student knows the basics of soils and is able to preliminarily determine the soil type. He/she is familiar with the necessary laboratory tests required for determining dimensioning parameters. The student is able to assess from the results, for example, a variety of soil types, frost-susceptibleness, settlings and load capacity features.
