Objective

Me, a nurse in Finland?

The aim of the Orientation studies is
- to start the Valvira process of the participant
- to familiarize the Finnish working and operating culture in the social and health field
- to strengthen the occupational identity of the nurse
- to identify and recognize previous skills and define supplementary studies.

Content

Valvira process:
- beginning of the valvira process, certificates, previous competence
- Finnish language; state language test, YKI, nursing degree in Finland

Strengthening the professional identity of the nurse:
- workshops, discussions, own reflection

An introduction to Finnish work and operational culture and clinical nursing:

Recognize and acknowledge previous knowledge:
Clinical competence simulations and workshops
- internal medicine-surgery, perioperative, home care
- drug and fluid therapy
- acute care
- decision making, communication, teamwork, communication, situational awareness
- guidance
- reporting

Qualifications

Completed Diploma or Bachelor-level nurse’s degree outside the EU and EEA countries.
Approved selection the test.
The suitability of the applicant for training is ensured in the selection test.
Finnish language proficiency at least at level A2.1 (according to the European Framework of Reference).
