Objective
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- understand the key principles of artificial intelligence (AI) and its significance in promoting accessibility, particularly in healthcare and rehabilitation contexts
- identify and assess challenges related to accessibility as well as the ethical and legislative aspects of AI
- apply the learned principles when designing or evaluating accessible AI solutions
Content
The course covers the fundamentals of AI and its applications in supporting accessibility. Key themes include inclusive data practices, AI bias, accessibility assessment, and the use of AI in areas such as robotics, speech therapy, and assistive technologies. The course also addresses ethical and legal issues, such as the EU Accessibility Act and the EU AI Act, as well as patient safety.

This course is primarily intended for students in the HTECH (Health Technology) track.
