Objective
The student shall be able to- describe the treatment episode of adult patients of different ages in surgical treatment, its premises, special characteristics and ethical requirements.- perform evidence-based methods in surgical nursing that support survival, and report health problems and their treatment in patients with surgically treated diseases.- explain the premises for radiological examinations and radiation therapy- control the spreading of infections in different surgical treatment environments.- acquire information and skills to guide and support the patient to take responsibility for regaining and maintaining his or her own health.- plan, implement and evaluate the nursing of a surgical patient in terms of his or her vital functions, medicinal treatment and changes due to the disease in the different stages of the treatment period and document the treatment of a surgical patient.- describe special issues specific to the nutrition of a surgical patient- describe the most common surgical diseases and their examination and treatment methods.
