Content scheduling

This course is designed for exchange students. The course is a fun way to get to know Finnish language and Finnish everyday life. After the course students understand basic structures in the Finnish language and are able to cope in everyday situations.
Student will be familiar with Finnish as a language (grammar, structure, basic features). He is able to introduce himself, able to ask simple questions and answer to them.
Introduction to Finnish, pronunciation, everyday phrases in Finnish, basic grammar; vocabulary, such as nationalities, food, colours, numbers, travelling.
The begin of the course is on Tuesday 21.1.2020 at 16.00 in the classroom SAL 2138 Victoria AND Friday 24.1.2020 at 14.00. On the week 5 no lessons, then meetings once a week, usually on Fridays at 14.00 and on some Tuesdays (see the timetable).

Objective

Materials

Material provided in Optima and in class. Optima > environment TUAS > Finnish FES Salo.

Teaching methods

Meetings in the classroom at Salo IoT campus, working in the town Salo with an app and assignments in Optima.
Active participation (student must attend at least 80% of the lessons).

Exam schedules

Oral exam on the 24th March 2020.

Student workload

Oral exam and classroom activities 20 h
Assignments in Optima: written/oral assignments, group works and research in internet, visiting several places for using the language skills, independent studies 60 h.
