PERIOPERATIIVISEN POTILAAN HOITOTYÖ 2 op PEHO (Leinonen Tuija)
- Perioperatiivinen hoitotyö (keskeiset käsitteet, hoitotyön prosessi, hoitotyön organisointi, tehtävä- ja vastuualueet tiimityössä, hoitoympäristö)
- Potilas- ja työturvallisuus leikkausosastolla (mm. infektioiden torjunta, laiteturvallisuus, raportointi ja kirjaaminen sekä leikkaustiimin tarkistuslistan käyttö, ei-tekniset taidot)
- Leikkaustiimin valmistautuminen ennen toimenpidettä (instrumenttien varaaminen, kirurginen käsidesinfektio ja steriiliin asuun pukeutuminen)
-Anestesiamenetelmät, välineet ja valmistelut
-Potilaan tarkkailu ja hoito anestesian aikana
- Potilaan valmistelut leikkausosastolla (mm. leikkausasento, leikkausalueen desinfektio ja leikkausalueen rajaaminen)
- Keskeiset hoitovälineet ja leikkauksessa avustaminen
- Sairaanhoitajan toiminnot leikkauksen loputtua
- Potilaan välitön postoperatiivinen tarkkailu heräämössä

ANESTESIOLOGIA JA FARMAKOLOGIA 1 op ANFA (Leinonen Tuija)
- Lääke- ja nestehoito anestesian aikana ja heräämössä (mm. eri anestesiamenetelmissä käytettävät lääkeaineet, mikrobilääkeprofylaksia, pahoinvoinninestolääkkeet, nestehoito)
-Erityisryhmien anestesian erityispiirteitä (mm. lapset, iäkkäät, raskaana olevat)

Objectives
Students will
- Understand the treatment path for perioperative patients
- Know how to describe the perioperative treatment process of adult patients
- Be able to work in multiprofessional surgical and anaesthetic teams at the different phases of perioperative nursing
- Become proficient in the fundamentals of surgical and anaesthetic nursing and learn to base their actions on the latest research information
- Understand the special features of medication and fluid therapy for perioperative patients
- Identify infection risks related to perioperative nursing and know how to minimise them
- Become familiar with the most common anaesthetic and analgesic methods
- Know how to prepare patients for anaesthesia and procedures
- Know how to use patient examination, monitoring and care instruments safely, interpret the resulting information and act accordingly
- Know how to report on and document the different phases of perioperative treatment
- Learn to identify the special features of guidance and support provided to perioperative patients
- Be aware of the safety risks in surgical and anaesthetic wards and know how to ensure safe activities
- Understand the tasks of anaesthetic nurses, circulating nurses and surgeon’s assistants and identify the key instruments used
- Know how to use health care technology in nursing
- Be able to perform immediate postoperative observation in the recovery room
- Know how to describe the fundamentals of radiological examinations and radiotherapy
- Know how to prepare and protect patients for examinations and ensure their own safety

The study unit comprises 2 cr of studies offered in English
Perioperative nursing PEHO
- Perioperative nursing (organisation, tasks and areas of responsibility in team work, care environment)
- Patient and occupational safety in the surgical ward, incl. infection prevention, instrument safety, reporting, documenting, use of checklists
- Team preparation before the procedure (instrument collection, surgical hand disinfection, sterile clothing)
- Patient preparation in the surgical ward (incl. operating position, disinfection of the area of operation)
- Operating positions
- Main instruments and surgical assistance
- Immediate postoperative observation in the recovery room
Anaesthesiology and Pharmacology 1 cr ANFA
- Anaesthetic procedures
- Observation and care of anaesthetised patient
- Medication and fluid therapy during anaesthesia and in the recovery room; drugs used in different anaesthetic procedures, anti-microbial prophylaxis, anti-nausea medication, fluid therapy during surgery

Pedagogic approaches and sustainable development

. Kontruktivistinen lähestymistapa lähitunneilla: Työelämähtöisyys huomioitu sairaanhoitajan näkökulmalla.Kirjallinen tehtävä mahdollista tehdä tiimityönä.
PEHO JA ANFA: Työelämäperusteiset toimintatavat, työelämäyhteistyö (mahdollisuuksien mukaan), tiimioppiminen ja yhteistyö. Kurssi sisältää 2 op englanninkielellä toteutettavia opintoja.

-· 1 op, 27 tuntia opiskelijan työtä, joista lähitunteja 8 ja opiskelijan itsenäistä opiskelua 19 tuntia.
PERIOPERATIIVISEN POTILAAN HOITOTYÖ 2op (PEHO)
Luento-opetus 21 h ja kirjallinen koe 2 h
(kokeeseen valmistautuminen ja muu itsenäinen opiskelu noin 40 h (helppo / keskivaikea teksti 10 h / 100 sivua = yhteensä noin 300 sivua)
- Opiskelija osallistuu aktiivisesti luennoille, 80 % läsnäolo
- Opiskelija valmistautuu tunneille ennakkotehtävien mukaisesti
- Opiskelija suorittaa hyväksytysti lääkelaskun (suoritus kirjataan harjoitteluun)
- Opiskelija suorittaa hyväksytysti kirjallisen tentin (0-5). Hyväksytty suoritus on 50 % kokeen kokonaispistemäärästä. Tentissä arvioidaan koko tenttialueen hallinta.

Opetus 6 h ja tentti 1 h, itsenäinen työskentely 20 h.
