Topics and skills learned in earlier naval architecture and marine engineering modules studies are applied in a large ship concept design project. A ship concept is developed in small student groups.
Topics included are for example.:
•outline specification, general arrangement plan
•main frame calculation and drawing
•stability and weight calculation
•propulsion machinery selection
•safety aspects in concept design
