Objective
After completing the course, the student knows the main parts of foundation works and can design the basic foundation structures and foundation works as well as identify the most common risks of foundation construction work.
Content
Foundation engineering according to Eurocodes.
Analyses of soil investigations, foundation on ground, foundation on rock and pile foundations, soil reinforcements, frost protection, earthwork requirements, excavation, radon and frost protection design.
Exercise: Foundation report for demanding building area.
Soil laboratory work.
