Objective
The students will be able to:
• create three-dimensional forms
• apply the basic principles of life sculpture and scaling
• develop their three-dimensional thinking
• express their observations by means of sculpture
• build on their knowledge of materials and techniques
Content
The students will focus on the history of observation-based sculpture and on observation as the starting point for artistic expression. What does it mean to observe and what are the ways in which the observation can be expressed through the art of sculpture? What can we see in a three-dimensional work of art?
The studies are completed as workshop-based work using different materials for observation, such as life models, depending on the implementation plan. The students are expected to actively participate in instruction and feedback discussions.
