Objectives

Students will
• Understand cancer as a disease and identify the factors related to early diagnosis and prevention of cancer
• Students will know different methods of treating and monitoring cancer how common types of cancer are diagnosed
• Students will know how to provide cancer patients with symptomatic and humane nursing services
• Students will know how to perform safe pharmacotherapy and how to pay attention to their personal occupational safety
• Students will know how to support and guide the functional capacity, well-being and quality of life of cancer patients and how to work with customers and their family members as a member of a multiprofessional team

• Nutrition of cancer patients
• Symptomatic treatment of cancer patients (medicated and unmedicated)
• Cancer, partners and sexuality
• Lifestyles as a means of supporting recovery from cancer
• Rehabilitation and monitoring of cancer patients
• Psychosocial support of cancer patients
• Safe cytostatic therapy and occupational safety, infusion port
• Pain medication and the use of an automatic dosing pump
