Objective

The participants are able to describe the specific features of bioprocesses and related apparatus, equipment and techniques. The participants are able to describe versatilely industrially and from the viewpoint of sustainable development imporntant products and manufacturing processes. The participants are able to describe the most important analytical methods used in biomaterials characterization, genetic engineering, diagnostics and bioprocesses.

The course will include meetings, laboratory working and independent working (the schedule is presented in ItsLearning platform)

Content scheduling

This course include theoretical part (3 CR) and laboratory part (2 CR).

Content of this course:

-The theoretical background and main principle of upstream and downstream processes
-The related equipments and techniques of bioprocesses
-Focus will be on biopharmaceuticals and proteins for diagnostics

-A protein will be produced, purified and assayed in laboratory works (laboratory part)

The learning assignments have been completed in accordance with the instructions, but the content is limited in scope.
Laboratory working:
Laboratory report is done in accordance with instructions.

The student has learned the main content of the course and source material and has been able to utilize these in the preparation of learning assignment. The assignments have been completed in accordance with the instructions and the returned documents are good in content and scope.
