Students write a blog-post from the content of the lectures. The blog-post is written by pairs and it will be evaluated with pass /fail.

Objective

- you understand the concepts of social inclusion and community, and the important role they play in people’s well-being
- you know how to promote a sense of community and the inclusion of individuals and groups through different methods
- you are able to view individuals as part of their social network and living environment and use the resources of the network for the benefit of the client
- you know how to perform advocacy in collaboration with residents and clients
- you are familiar with municipalities’ and organisations’ activities to promote health and well-being and to prevent problems related to them, and you know how to use these services

Content

- the levels of social inclusion
- the ways citizens, municipality residents, clients and social service workers can engage in advocacy
- a social pedagogical approach, social inclusion and exclusion
- participatory and collaborative methods such as art-based participatory methods and social network mapping
- regional social work and analysis

Project: failed /1-5. Active participation required. The assessment of the course is based on self- and peer-review. Fill out the self-assessment form found in Itslearning no later than 29.10. and do a peer review no later than 1.11.24. More detailed instructions can be found in Itslearnig.
