Objective
The student understands theory of plasticity and finite element method (FEM) and is able to apply them in structural mechanics.

-Introduction to Theory of Plasticity
-Ultimate Load of statically determinate and indeterminate truss and beam
-Plastic Moment and Cross-Section Shape Factor
-Yield Line Theory: Application of Plasticity Theory to Slabs
-Basics of the Finite Element Method (rods, beams with two and four degrees of freedom)

Exam and homework. Participation in the exam requires completion of at least 40% of the homework.
