Contents
Strengthening language from the point of view of health care and the nurse
- Daily verbal and written interaction situations in nursing, e.g.
o Asking about the patient's well-being, guiding the patient in routine care situations, describing one's own activities
- Key grammatical structures needed in routine care situations, e.g.
o The structures of asking, directing and explaining, the basic types of sentences
- Expansion of vocabulary related to one's own professional field, e.g.
o everyday expressions of time and quantity, body parts, description of pain, basic diseases, medication, treatment instructions
- Understanding and partial production of the main points of professional texts, e.g.
o pre-information forms, medication lists, laboratory tests, patient instructions and recorded treatment events
- Strengthening language learning strategies
