Content scheduling
The course is integrated with the course Photographic Expression I. The aim of the course is to produce a finished photographic work. We will work together as a group and independently. The final outcome of the course will be a small group exhibition of the finished works produced during the course, either in the school gallery or in another space to be acquired together.
An introduction to PeriLAB will take place during the course. After the orientation, the student will be entitled to use the services of PeriLAB. In addition to the introductory lecture and exhibition, the student must attend the PeriLAB orientation.
Indicative timetable:
Tue 25 Feb at 10-15am Introductory lecture: exhibition process, different methods of photography in the exhibition context, H209
Wed 26 Feb 11-16 Processing images for printing, Photography Mac class.
PeriLab introductory sessions and exhibition hanging, supervision and dismantling according to a schedule to be announced.
Objective
The students learn to identify the expressive potential of different photographic methods and techniques and to use them in their own work.
Content
• The production methods in photography, different formats of productions. New expressive channels using different tools. How will these affect the interpretation of an image?
• Methods of displaying photographic art. Photographs in mobile devices, installations, virtual spaces etc. without forgetting the traditional prints. What is the relationship between different presentation methods and the reality and what impact does this have on a photograph.
Teaching methods
Making and presenting a finished photographic work. Face-to-face meetings, lectures and discussions. Group work to organise an exhibition. Introduction to PeriLAB. Possible self-funded excursion to Helsinki: visit to art schools and community work spaces, exhibition visit.

Student workload
Students will continue to work independently throughout the course and will produce and present a finished photographic work in a group exhibition.
The introductory meeting will provide an introduction to the exhibition process in general and explore possible exhibition venues.
The preparation of a photographic file for printing and the PeriLab introduction are a compulsory part of the course.
