Objective

SPECIAL ISSUES IN PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING 5 cr TERI
Objectives:The student shall be able to
-assess and support the resources of people and families of different ages and prevent risks and disturbances to health, safety and social development
- analyse various client-oriented methods in public health nursing
- improve his or her knowledge in addressing issues and early intervention as well as in evaluating the need for guidance and treatment
- improve his or her knowledge of different group work methods and guide peer groups
- work with the management of special issues at community and individual level in co-operation with a multidisciplinary expert group, and use his or her knowledge about the influence of the environment on the health of the community
- improve his or her knowledge in public health nursing of special needs groups
- improve his or her competences in medicinal treatment

Content

Contents:
- special issues relating to different age groups
- special issues relating to families with children and adolescents, such as early interaction, LGBT families, disturbances in child's speech development, child abuse, early intervention and addressing issues, eating disorders
- special issues relating to people of working age, such as unemployment
- special issues relating to the elderly, such as abuse, drugs and alcohol, loneliness, nutrition, mental health, medicinal treatment

Teaching methods

Verkkototeutuksena tapahtuvat oppimistilanteet opintojakson alussa, puolivälissä ja lopussa.
Oppimismenetelmänä on itsenäisesti suoritettavat verkkokurssit ja niiden pohjalta yhteinen osaamisen jakaminen.

Valtakunnalliset rokotusosaamisen verkkokurssit 2op+ 1op(yksilö/parityöskentelynä)
Lisäksi 2 op verran terveydenhoitotyön erityiskysymyksiin liittyen (kts.ITS).
Tiimityöskentely, pienryhmäkeskustelut ja asiantuntijan puheenvuorot osaamisen jakamisessa.
