Kurssi on koko syyslukukauden 2025. Lähiopetus tapahtuu syksyn 2025 aikana perjantaisin klo 09-11.

Objective

Learning objectives of the student:
1. Understand the principles of the LCA process.
2. Knows the basic concepts of LCA and is able to communicate them clearly.
3. Understand the results of LCA analysis.
4. Learn to work independently, using external networks and resources to successfully manage work

Content

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is used to assess the environmental impact of a variety of items such as products, services, processes and economic activities. It can also be used as a basis for reducing environmental impacts, for example by highlighting problem areas and finding solutions.

The core idea of LCA is to look at the whole life cycle of an object and to identify and quantify the different sources of environmental pollution. There are many different LCA tools and ways of carrying out LCA. These will be discussed in this course.

Teaching methods

Asiantuntijaluentoja online, lähiopetusta ja -ohjausta, päästölaskentaa, tehtäviä ITS:ssä.

Exam schedules

Kurssilla ei ole yhtä isoa tenttiä vaan arvosana muodostuu tehtävien kautta. Monivalintatehtäviä on kuusi kappaletta ja niidä arvosana muodostuu seuraavasti:
>=4/10=0
5/10=1
6/10=2
7/10=3
8/10=4
9-10/10=5
Yhden monivalintatehtävän painoarvo on 15% eli yhteensä 90%.
Lisäksi kurssillä tehdään harjoitustyö, joka on pakollinen ja se pitää olla tehtynä DL mennessä ja arvioidaan hyv/hyl. Harkkatyö tehdään ryhmätehtävänä ja siinä vertaisarviointi, joka on 10% kokonaisarvosanasta.

Hyväksyttyä kurssisuoritusta ei voi korottaa.

Student poorly understands the principles of LCA process and the results of a LCA analysis. Student has shortcomings in their independent work management and use of external networks and resources. Student has difficulties to think in a customer-oriented way.

Student understands the principles of LCA process and the results of a LCA analysis. Student practices to act independently using external networks and resources to manage a work successfully. Student practices to think in a customer-oriented way.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Student excellently understands the principles of LCA process and the results of a LCA analysis. Student acts independently using external networks and resources to manage a work excellently. Student thinks excellently in a customer-oriented way.
