Objective

Advanced level emergency care 10 cr HTEHThe student shall be able to-work independently and on their own initiative in emergency care situations according to personal care responsibility and given medical advice (to be ascertained nationally)-be aware of situations in which it is motivated to not treat the patient from the point of view of the patient’s benefit-use authorities co-operation in treatment level emergency care situations presupposing it - take into account the safety risks of the environment and can ensure safety of activities-master the patient examination, monitoring and treatment equipment and their safe use in treatment level emergency care in multiple patient and major accident situations- make a working diagnosis and an emergency care plan in accordance with the working diagnosis based on patient history, observations, symptoms and findings in collaboration with a physician - master the documentation of emergency care, the use of the authorities network in communications and the information and reporting practices ensuring continuity of care- be familiar with the medication used on treatment level and their use and contra-indications, impact mechanisms and adverse effects (medication passport)- describe the emergency and critical care service and system as part of specialist health care, the tiered structure of emergency and critical care and the significance and interdependence of the different stages of the emergency and critical care pathway

Content

Emergency medicine 2 cr- the most common sudden illness attacks, the worsening of the illness and patient trauma requiring urgent care and transportation to the location of continued care, and the nursing of them outside the hospital and during transportation Neurology 1 cr the most common acute neurological illnesses and trauma, the prevention of them, nursing and rehabilitation methods and the specific features of medication and fluids infusion
