Content scheduling

Note! This course is a joint implementation for both Finnish-speaking and international groups. The language of instruction and communication is English. You will get to practice what it’s like to work in a multinational group. You do not need excellent language skills to succeed in the course, and language proficiency is not assessed in the evaluation.

Objective

• you obtain knowledge of the everyday lives and challenges of the social service client groups
• you know how to apply the principles of sustainability in your work
• you master the basics of professional interaction in the work of social service professionals and know how to meet clients
• you are able to work in teams and participate in project planning and implementation responsibly
• you know how to act in the event of accidents, seizures and smaller accidents at home or outside work

• the principles of client work in social services
• professional interaction and counselling in client work
• theories on and counselling of groups
• the principles, structure and phases of project work
• implementing a project
• basic first aid skills
