Objective

Client and employee safety 2 ETCS
Objectives
• you are familiar with the most important legislation, documents, responsibilities and principles that guide client work and workplace safety
• you are able to work independently, promoting the safety of your work community
• you are familiar with the principles of work ergonomics and can apply them to your work
• you know how to recognise and face violence or clients at risk of violence and guide them to support services if necessary

Medicinal treatment and medication safety 3 ETCS
Objectives
• you know the authorities that supervise medication safety, the core legislation and licensing practices
• you understand professional employees’ responsibility in administering medication
• you know the basics of medicinal treatment
• you know how to administer medication safely and responsibly

Content

Customer and employee safety 2 ETCS
Contents
• work community and organisation safety management and planning
• anticipation, actions in threat situations and analysis of threat situations
• forms of violence, and identifying and addressing them
• work ergonomics methods

Medicinal treatment and medication safety 3 ETCS
Contents
• core legislation and guidelines concerning medicinal treatment
• the stages of medicines in the body and their effects on the body
• forms of medication and routes of administration (not intramuscular or intravenous injections)
• the adverse effects and interactions of medicines and commitment to medication
• the pharmacotherapy plan and Bachelors of Social Services as providers of safe medication

- does not know the key laws, documents, responsibilities, and guiding principles related to client work and safety in the work environment
- is unable to work independently in a manner that promotes safety within the work community
- is unaware of the principles of ergonomic working and cannot apply them in their own actions
- is unable to identify or appropriately respond to clients experiencing violence or the threat of violence, and cannot guide them to appropriate support services
- does not know the authorities responsible for supervising the safety of pharmacotherapy, the relevant legislation, or the practices related to permissions
- does not understand the responsibilities of different professionals in the implementation of pharmacotherapy
- lacks knowledge of the basics of pharmacotherapy and is unable to carry it out safely and responsibly

The student:
- recognizes the key laws, documents, responsibilities, and guiding principles related to client work and safety in the work environment, but needs occasional support in applying them
- is able to work independently in a way that promotes safety in the work community, though guidance may be needed in more demanding situations
- knows the basic principles of ergonomic working and applies them in their own actions with some support
- identifies clients experiencing violence or the threat of violence and can guide them to appropriate support services with assistance

Medicinal treatment

The student:
- knows the authorities supervising the safety of pharmacotherapy, the relevant legislation, and permission practices, but may need support in applying them
- understands the responsibilities of different professionals in pharmacotherapy implementation, though not yet comprehensively
- knows the basics of pharmacotherapy and is able to carry it out with guidance, ensuring safety and responsibility
- knows some of the authorities supervising the safety of pharmacotherapy, relevant legislation, and permission practices
- partially understands the responsibilities of different professionals in the implementation of pharmacotherapy
- has partial knowledge of the basics of pharmacotherapy and is able to carry it out with some level of safety and responsibility
- knows some of the key laws, documents, responsibilities, and guiding principles related to client work and safety in the work environment, and is able to apply this knowledge to some extent
