Objective

After completing the course, the student:

-knows basics of material testing
-knows properties of common steels, aluminiums, cast irons and where to use them
-knows commonly used plastics and composites
-understands how heat and mechanical treatment affects for steel properties
-knows basics of corrosion prevention
- can use systematic material selection process to find cost-efficient and sustainable material for application
