Objective

Students will be familiar with German (and other German-speaking countries, Austria and Switzerland) society, educational system, cultural practices, business life and world of work. Students master the basics of the German language, knowing how to operate in simple everyday communication situations in the German language.

Content

The course covers the following topics:
- Cultural knowledge, cultural similarities and differences
- Stereotypes
- Culture shock
- Customs in leisure and working life
- Educational system, studying
- Business life
- Basics of the German language (greetings, introducing oneself, small talk, everyday life situations e.g. when travelling, shopping or going to a restaurant).
