Content scheduling

Material tensile test and the determination of allowable tensions in the material. Determination of tensile and compressive stresses in the members and axial displacement. Shearing action of joint pins and screw connections. Stress diagrams of beam structures and the tensions caused by the bending of beams.

Objective

The objective of the Mechanics of materials course is to learn to dimension simple structures so that they are sustainable and economically beneficial in terms of use of the material, and do not pose a risk to the environment.

Content

Material tensile test and the determination of allowable tensions in the material. Determination of tensile and compressive stresses in the members and axial displacement. Shearing action of joint pins and screw connections. Rotations and shear tensions caused by torsion axles. Stress diagrams of beam structures and the tensions caused by the bending of beams.
