Content scheduling

CONTENT: Internship
TIMING: Five weeks practical training during weeks 10-22.

Objective

SPECIALIST COMPETENCE IN MIDWIFERY 2 7 CR KÄER 2

Objectives:

The student shall be able to

- plan, implement, document and evaluate, as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the nursing of a pregnant, parturient and puerperal mother, a healthy neonatal infant, a neonatal infant requiring intensive care, or a gynaecological patient

- guide, advise and treat patients and family members in midwifery sexual and reproductive health care issues, medicinal treatment, nutrition, exercise and hygiene

- act ethically in accordance with the ethics of midwifery and observe the governing regulations and legislation

- support the patient's empowerment

- act correctly in terms of aseptics

- use software for electronic documentation in the ward and record the essential data in the database

Content

The contents will be published in the implementation plan The study units will consist of training units fulfilling the requirements of the EU/2005 directives.

Opiskeluyksikköinä EU/2005 direktiivien mukaiset harjoitteluyksiköt.
Aika: 27.8.-16.12.18 välisenä aikana.

Student workload

STUDENT´S TASKS AND DUTIES:
- setting goals for practical training and returning those to Optima return box after first week of practice
- mid-term evaluation with supervisor and returning a written report of that to Optima return box
- final evaluation with supervisor and returning a written report of that to Optima return box
STUDENT`S WORK LOAD: 7 credits = 189 hours

Evaluation methods and criteria

Evaluation discussions with supervisors (mid-term and final evaluation) and self-evaluation.
