Objective
The student shall be able to - plan, implement, document and evaluate the treatment of a postpartum mother and neonatal infant in the delivery and maternity ward - guide, advise and treat a postpartum mother, neonatal infant and the family in special issues relating to the period after parturition - master the monitoring and care of a neonatal infant immediately after parturition - know the monitoring and care of a puerperal mother and neonatal infant - guide and support a puerperal mother in breastfeeding and problems relating to it as well as in rooming-in care - identify postpartum mothers requiring special observation and act in abnormal situations - support the growth into parenthood and the well-being of the family as well as early interaction - monitor and care for a healthy neonatal infant independently - monitor and care for a sick neonatal infant as a member of a multidisciplinary team - provide initial advice to the parents, when the family has a sick, disabled or stillborn child - give breastfeeding guidance according to the principles of breastfeeding training - perform a postnatal examination - understand the mother's psychological processes and support the mother and the family in growth into parenthood. - act justifiably in midwifery duties of postpartum women
