Objective

Special questions in mental health and psychiatric nursing 5 cr MIPSY
Objectives
Students will
- Students will learn to determine the need for, plan, administer and evaluate the care of patients suffering from mental health and substance abuse issues or from crises.
- Students will enhance their expertise in demanding mental health and substance abuse prevention.
- Students will learn to identify mental health and substance abuse problems of children, adolescents and the elderly, to address them and to refer customers/patients to appropriate care.
- Students will learn to treat patients in a crisis and to support their family members in crisis management.
- Students will master the main treatment methods, treatment-related technology and the creation of a safe care environment in mental health, substance abuse and crisis management work.
- Students will learn to use career counselling as a method for professional growth and to support their competence in mental health and substance abuse nursing.
- Students will deepen their competence in pharmacotherapy for mental health and substance abuse patients.
