Objective

Students will - identify the various motivations and values behind volunteering, and development trends. - understand the importance of volunteering for different sectors of society and for civil society activities. - recognise different forms of volunteering and the approaches of associations and other bodies organizing voluntary activities. - understand the dynamics between volunteering and paid work. - be familiar with the definition of volunteering and recognise the impact of legislation and official practices.

- volunteering in Finland - volunteering in various sectors (social welfare, cultural events, sport, nature etc.) - volunteering as a resource in a welfare society. - the national discussion around volunteering; influencing the determinants of volunteering

Teaching methods

verkko-opetus, 3 lähipäivää, joista vähintään yhdessä on oltava läsnä. Poissaoloista tehdään korvaavat tehtävät.
